Just Some Thoughts

I read this article about a woman who loved reading Mormon mommy blogs. This woman said that she never wanted that kind of life, (making cupcakes, doing little crafts, arranging flowers, etc) but that she was addicted to reading about that life style. She made it sound like it was probably all fake and these Mormon mommies really weren't that happy but she liked reading it still the same. There were times while reading the blog when I wanted to pull my hair out and times that it touched my heart. She described herself as being an atheist and a feminist. She writes "Enter the Mormon bloggers, with their picture-perfect catalog lives. It is possible to be happy, they seem to whisper. We love our homes. We love our husband" "And if they help women like me envision a life in which marriage and motherhood could potentially be something other than a miserable, soul-destroying trap, I say, "Right on." I have read it a few times now and every time I do I come up with some different thoughts.

#1: We DO NOT sit around all day baking cup cakes, and arranging flowers! HELLO, we are mothers taking care of small little people who need constant attention.

#2:Being a mother is the most IMPORTANT and self-sacrificing and self-empowering job on the planet and if women around the world really do believe that feminist crap; that children will destroy your life and drag you down to the gulf of misery, they will end up being the most depressed and lonely 70 year olds on this earth

#3: MOST Mormon moms are just as educated as currier driven women, they just choose to put their time, energy and love into SOMEONE not SOMETHING.

#4: There are plenty of moms out their that are not Mormons and also love it; it's not just a Mormon thing!

#5: I feel so bad for the women it this world who have been raised with the thought that Motherhood and being a wife are the worst things that could happen to a woman. It breaks my heart, I just feel bad for them. To do something that is bigger than yourself (such as motherhood, being a wife) is more gratifying that getting a $10,000 pay check, I know! I know this one kinda goes with #5:)

#6: I think if a woman is drawn to reading other women’s lives on a daily basis then maybe there is something deeper in her that wants a life like theirs. I think she is afraid to except that she wants more to life than a corner office with a view.

#7: Life by all means isn’t “perfect” but I couldn’t get closer to perfect than I am now. As a stay at home mom of three and wife to an amazing man I can honestly say that my “simple” life makes me more happy than anything the world has to offer.

#8: I love that Mormon Mommy Bloggers have a voice and that it's a positive one. I love that women around the world can't get enough of what they have to say and what they have to share.

Girls Night=Date Night to Emergency Room

I was supposed to go out with the girls last night but I got sick. I thought "Ok I have the flue, no big deal." Then my hands, face, lips, tongue, and feet went numb. That freaked me out so we drove to every Instacare. As we pulled up to two of them they literally turned off the lights right as we got there. I was begging Riley to go bang on the door and demand to be seen, I'm a little loopy when I'm really sick.

So we kept driving till we had no place to go but the Emergency Room. Even as we were sitting there I was begging to leave, I mean even if my hands had turned into old women hands that I could't move it sill couldn't be worth an Emergency Room visit. At this point Riley said I was completely delusional, I was making everyone around me giggle while I was throwing up bile. Ok so maybe I was a little out of it, lol.

After 5 hours in the Emergency Room they released me with the new information that if I start to go all numb everywhere I should just grab a bag and breath in it and stop hyperventilating, the solution was so simple but the bill is SO BIG:( I guess most people just pass out and their body takes over for them. NOPE not me, had to be stubborn and go all paralyses. So if you ever start going numb just RELAX and BREATH!!!!! Oh how I WISH I had known this info earlier!!!

These are my hands, I literally couldn't move them from this position.
Scared the crap out of me!
The good thing was that I found out that I wasn't pregnant, that was the best perk of the night:) By the end of the trip I was pumped full of drugs and I was as happy as a clam, Riley and I ended up laughing out heads off. That was one expensive date night, lol! I think I was the only patient in there that entered in a wheel chair in excruciating pain and left walking and laughing with a sheepish smile on my face.

The drugs have worn off and I'm back to feeling like crap but at least I don't feel and look like I'm 100 years old. Also I have to mention my AMAZING friend Stacy. She was here till 2am watching my kids, now that's a good friend:) Thanks Stace!!!

Speaking Of Spiderman

Today while we were at the Fire Station with Jacks Preschool the Firman asked who you should call if there is a fire and Jack yelled out, "SPIDERMAN!!!" It was cute:) Then later when he was showing the kids the JAws Of Life thing Jack piped up again and said, "Ya it's the hard rock like Rock Man. Don't ya think?" I think everyone had no idea what Jack was talking about but me, ahhh the perks of being the mom, lol:)

Dane and London were with us as well and London was determined to be on the ground with the big kids. When she started to wonder off I reminded her that she needed to be by Jack and she said and I'm not joking, "Bla du mama da but" This translates into "Your a but mama." Accompanying this impressive and terrible language was her folding her arms and stomping her foot. I have never see anything like it, she isn't even two yet and she is giving more attitude than I know what to do with. I'm just going to through a please bless out there for my sanity, lol:)

As for Mr. Dane, he just wanted to be as close to the fire engine as possible. He loved sitting on the front of it. One of the guys giving the presentation was also one of the men who showed up when Dane fell of my bed when he was a baby. I'm surprised Dane didn't see him and run in fear from the bad memory. But Dane is always my little one that's just laid back and will go with the flow, I LOVE this about him:)

My Super Hero!!!

Today for nap time this is what I found. I not gonna lie, it freaked me out.

I had to stare at it for quite some time to figure it out. Eventually I just went down there and took it off his head, it was too weird. But it just goes to show that this little man of mine is SOOOOOOOOOO into super heros. I have never seen anything like it. Jack has the Spiderman, Batman, Mr. Incredible, Super Jack, and Iron man costumes and he changes about 10 time a day. There are time when I can't stand that he is so into them but then there are those times when he rescuing me or London or Dane or Daddy and it's so darn cute. I can't imagine a better super hero to be saved by than MY JACK, he really is my knight in shining armor more times than not! Last night he siad, "Mom I'm not scared of scary movies because I'm Iron man. I just don't get scared." If only that were true, lol:) Thanks Jack for being this families super hero, we would be lost without you;)

4 Years Ago TODAY!!!

Jack, today is your birthday!!!! As I am writing this you are riding a bike with Kaden on the back saying, "Jack faster" and you in a very strained voice saying, "I can't, your.....too.... heavy!!!"

I can't quite explain how you have changed our lives. 4 years ago on this day you flipped our worlds upside down. You came into this world and made our lives more complete than we had ever felt. Holding you in my arms for the first time is a moment I will never forget. The best part of that day 4 years ago was watching your daddy stare into your eyes in wonder and amazement. The look on his face was new to me and watching him love and care for you made my love for him that much stronger. Because of you our love for one another increased ten fold, you made our love grow in a way that nothing els could have.

There has always been something different about you Jack. It's hard to explain but everyone you meet instantly falls in love with you. You are friendly and outgoing and people are just drawn to you. I remember one time your grandma Terri said that you may just be a prophet one day, I'm not sure if that's in your future but you are that special. I think our Father in Heaven knew that our family needed you, that your brothers and sisters needed you, that you would set the example that they needed and it amazes me because you already are. I can't thank Heavenly Father enough for sending you to us, and I feel like the luckiest mom in the world that you chose our family. Jack we love and adore you, Happy Birthday little man!

I just want to add this story. Jack has been watching his "Jesus Movies" and he loves them. He has watched them so much that he acts them out. Yesterday we were at McDonalds and he gets up on the table and stands with his hands high in the air and as he slowly lowers them I ask, "Jack who are you?" As he is gracefully lowering his arms he says in a very serious and reverent voice "Jesus Chirst." MaRea and I look at each other and start laughing and couldn't stop. I didn't know weather to be offended or touched. That's my Jack for ya:) Love you little man!

I Just Threw Up In My Mouth A Little

I HATE PORN!!!! I think that it's a miracle that in 27 years I haven't been exposed to it, I mean how is that possible? It finely happened yesterday. I was looking up some images for skinny jeans and opened up this page that ultimately was a porn sight. I was a deer in the head lights, lol. I hated porn before but now........I LOATH it!!!!!!! A whole day later and I'm still throwing up in my mouth. I have seen porn rip families apart and now I understand why. I don't think I really got it before, I didn't understand how destructive it could be to a persons soul. It's not fair that my little boys are going to be exposed to that some day, it's not fair that I can't keep them totally and completely protected from it, and it's not fair that I have to worry about it all the time. I hate how it exploits women in the worst way, I hate how it is totally void of any REAL love, and I HATE that it is so readily excepted in todays society. The fact of the matter is that I can't totally and completely protect my little boys from it, all I can do it teach then right from wrong and hope that they listen to that still small voice and make the right choice. So there you have it, my thoughts on porn. I could go on for hours but I will keep it short and simple........I HATE PORN!!!!!
