Oregon 2008

OK so we drove to Oregon, all 16 house. On the way there we stopped at a park and had a picnic. This is Jack on the horse. Well Mason thought that he needed a turn so Jack shared with him and this is Mason on the horse.

Jack looks about right, right size, right age. Cute!
Not so much.

We rented 2 homes, the Sand Castle and the Sand Dollar. Such cute names. This was Jacks first time seeing the ocean and he loved it! All he wanted to do was through the sand.

Jack throwing the sand, and so happy about it.

All the little boys in there matching hoodies, (thanks Grandma and Grandpa).

Every Year we go to the tide pools and it was so much more fun this year because we had jack, he was in love. We saw starfish and weird little creatures that we call but holes, so proper ha. But here are a few pics of us at the Tide pools.

Doesn't Jack look so happy to be in a picture.

Look at all those nasty muscles, yuck!

Also one of my favorite outings is to go crabbing. If you ever go to Oregon you must go crabbing, you will love it.

Jack in his life vest, doesn't he look comfy.

Terry driving the boat. It is so much harder than it looks. I almost tossed us out, so scary. Good job Terry!

Jack and Riley on the boat, ready to catch some delicious crab.

This is just one of the 21 crab we caught. YUMMY!

Yes we ate both of these guys.

Lindy and I sat the longest at the table eating. This is the heap of crab that we scarfed down. Doesn't that look good, he, he, he.
Oregon is such a wonderful place and I can't wait to get back there. Thanks Terri and Mike for all the fun that you planned, really it was a blast.

Happy Fathers Day!!

Happy Fathers Day to all the fathers out there. It’s so weird to think back to the time when we were out changing pipes. 3 times a day Dad would have to round us up from all over Young Ward, that was a job in itself. It would have been so easy just to have hired someone but dad knew that what we would get from it was more important than even the actual crop. We would fight kick and scream all the way there and believe it or not those are some of my best memories. Working along side of dad was something that he just loved and still to this day loves. If you want to see a huge grin on dads face all you have to do is go outside and cut down a few trees with him. To see that mischievous grin on dads face is priceless, and if you know my dad you know exactly what I’m talking about. Now that I am a bit older I am so appreciative for the work ethic that my dad taught me. Never in a million years would I have thought that it would have been something that I would be grateful for, but I truly am. I have my own little person to teach that same principle to and I hope that I can do as good a job as my dad did. I love you Dad and Thank YOU.

I am so happy that Jack has the daddy that he has; he is the luckiest little boy in the world. Riley is the light of Jacks life. There is nothing better than watching the two of them play together. To have married a man as good as Riley is such an incredible blessing, I couldn’t have done better. Thank you Riley for loving our little family so much, you take care of us so well. I love you more than words can explain; you are the Love of my life.

I think I am one of the luckiest In-Laws of all time. I have a Father in Law that treats me like I have always been a part of his family. I look to him as a daughter would look to a father. Mike is a great man and he is an even better dad. Love you Mike and thanks for loving me so much.

This weekend we spent some time with the Smith family and here are a few pictures of Jack enjoying himself.
This is jack lounging around as Riley and I clean the Car. He has his own special little chair at grandmas house.
Jack loves golf. He watches it and he plays it. I was at the store the other day and he kept saying, "ball, ball, ball". I looked around and there were no balls to be seen. Then I saw a set of golf clubs and pointed to them and yes that is what he was trying to point out to me. As we walked away he cried. So this is him setting up to swing. Look at the concentration on his face.
This is the "back" part that riley taught him. Sometimes he does it sometimes he doesn't.

This is the actual swing and yes he missed the ball, he does that a lot.

This is the look of pure joy. He looks like he should belong on the cover of a golf magazine.

JUST KYLE

OK everyone, you have to get on board. If any of you know my brother in law you probably have no idea that he is an incredible righter, but he is! He has his own blog and he is writing a book on it. Each post is a new part of the story. I read about a book a week and i am telling you he is talented, the boy can wright. If any of you like reading you must read the story. The advantage that you have is that you get to read a lot at once. Every time I read I have to wait for the next part to come out, but don't worry he is fast and gets the next part to us rather quickly. This story has everything that a girl or boy would want, action, love, family unity and suspense. Get reading everyone, you'll be addicted before you know it. All you have to do is click on my Just Klye link on the side. Make sure that you start as Section One or you will be totally lost. Let me know what you think but even better let Kyle know what you think.

Ok so this blog is all about the Hess family. I just wanted to thank my sister MaRea for being such a good support for Riley and I. MaRea has been waiting Jack every Tuesday while I went to work and I have never heard her complain once, it's just not like her. Thank you MaRea for loving Jack so much and being an incredible sister. I love you.

And I promise that I will get another post out there as soon as possible, things have been great lately ans I have lots of good news, no I am not Prego but I was able to quit one of my jobs. What a blessing.

The Greatest Gift

1 Year 3 months and 24 days ago I was given the greatest gift I have ever received, my sweet baby boy. Not knowing what I was getting into, not knowing the pain, joy, fear and pride that would accompany my little one I took the plunge. After a few hours of labor I finely was able to look into the eyes that I had been dreaming about ever since I was a little girl. A flood of emotion caught me by surprise as I looked into his perfect eyes. For the first time I understood what perfect love was. A simple yet overwhelming thought came to my mind that I have not yet been able to shake, “God I swear I will bring him home to you.” I finely understood that Gods love is boundless. The amount of love that I have for my baby boy still doesn’t come close to the amount that our Father in Heaven has for him. I can only imagine how difficult it would be to send away a child only to hope that they would return home again one day. Who know that this 7 pound 10 ounce bundle of joy could bring with him such an enormous responsibility? There is a woman who had enough courage to go through this same experience 10 times, my mommy. I had no idea what a mothers love was capable of until I had my own and still I don’t understand it as deeply as my mother. Not only did she have to courage to go through this 10 times she did it well. All ten are capable, successful happy, (relatively normal) individuals. Mom thank you for teaching me what was most important in this life, which in itself has done more for me than anything that you have or could have done. I want to promises you that I will work hard to get back to our loving Fathers arms and I will do everything in my power to get my children back as well, even it means going to the Temple once a month, week or day. Thank you giving me life so that I could have a chance to recieve my greatest gift. I Love You and Happy Mothers Day!

Glad You Were Born

A kiss on the Thatcher farm
In spring, for the first time
And out under the stars,
Had me thinking for months and months
"I'm glad you were born!"

Now with a baby boy Jack,
A home and an imaginary dog,
Your strengthening me, supporting me,
And making me laugh, still has me saying
"I'm glad you were born!"

Happy Birthday Love!
Riley

Heres To The Pot Holes

Last night I had a dream, no not like Martin Luther King kinda dream, a real dream. I was in a restaurant with a rich, powerful famous man. He told me that he would give me everything that the world could offer if I would simply leave the life I had. I looked into his eyes and without hesitation i said, "How strange that you think that you could offer me true happiness, nothing that you have can make me happy." As soon as I finished that sentence I woke up, WIDE AWAKE! I lay there and prayed that I would have the curse of Sleeping Beauty cast upon me and fall into a deep sleep but I just lay there, wide awake. I decided that maybe I was supposed to think a little more about what that strange dream was all about. The words I spoke in the dream instantly came back to me. I guess that when God wants you to learn something, he will shout. You see the night before I was complaining about having to go to work the next day. Do I want to work? No! Do I want to be a mommy and only a mommy? Yes! But is that where I am at in life? NO! You see I was right, what I said in my dream truly was profound, (too bad it really wasn't me.) Maybe I don't have all the power and wealth in the world but I wouldn't trade my life in for any of it. It's a lot like riding a bike on a rough, pot holed road. You feel as if the pot holes just keep on coming, like there are never going to end. Then you hit the heavenly just laid tar. Your ride suddenly becomes smooth as butter, so luxurious. Without the rough pot holed road I couldn't and wouldn't enjoy the smooth tar. After I came to this new A-Ha moment I thought I leaned my lesson and it was time for sleep. So once again I prayed for Sleeping Beauties curse and once again I lay wide awake. Then I received a new curse, cramps. Believe it or not I acutely smiled and had a little laugh. I raised my hand in the air and said, "Hears to the pot holes." So ladies here's to the rough pot holed roads, however great or small, drink up cause without them we wouldn't be pushed to new heights.
