Bear Lake 2009

Last weekend we went to Bear Lake with Riley's family and we had a blast!! Here are a few pics of out little vacation.

The first day we got there Riley and I went to Lake Bloomington. It was wonderful to have a few min. to just the two of us. When the lady took our picture she said, "This could be your engagement picture." We laughed and told her that we had 3 children. The look on her face was priceless. Then we told her that we had twins 4 months ago and she really just about lost it.

You may wonder what they are doing wearing those ridicules hats but if you knew Terri Smith you would already know:) The second day we were there we had a scavenger hunt and we had to wear our special family hats. LOVE HER!! Ours were horses because we call my house the farm.

Isn't he cute!

Too bad you can't see their faces. The twins look like their so board:)

Cute family!

Look how cute Karly is. After sweat, blood and tears we were all able to look so fashionable in our new flip lops. Thanks Kar, your the best.

For months before we went Terri collected beads and everything you would need to make watch bands. So all us girls sat around and talked, laugh, stuffed our faces and made watch bands. Thanks Terri, it was so much fun! These are the 4 that I made.

This one is my favorite:)

Our little vacation was so much fun. The babies were hard at times because they wouldn't nap during the day but other than that it was great. Can't wait till next time!

Jack's a BIG BOY now!!!

The time has come that Mr. Jack Smith has decided that he is going to be a BIG BOY and do poo's in the potty. I"M FREE:)!!!!!! Well not really but one down and two to go, I'll take it, lol. One day Jack said, "Mom my diapers slow me down, underwear's make me fast!" That was the first sign that he was really serious about pooping in the potty. Then a friend of mine said that when she put her boy in underwear she told him that he shouldn't pee or poop on the Disney character because it would hurt his feeling, of course I used it and that helped too. The best thing we did was buy him a MONSTER TRUCK, (if you could hear him say it he would make is voice really deep and rough, and he says it slow.) When he did poops in the potty he got to play with it, when he pooped in his "underwear's", (that's what he calls them) we took it away. That was the real turning point. 2 and 1/2 and potty trained, SO HAPPY!!!

Jack is quite the sweet little thing and he has a lot to say and he has a lot on his mind. Today when we were driving he said, "Mom I want to go to China." I didn't know what to say, we had never talked about China, i had no idea he even knew it was a place. I said, "Why, what's in China?" He said, "The Moon, and horses. Ya know it's way far away." I started laughing and he looked at me like I was the idiot, that's my boy:)

When I was taking this picture he said, "Ok dad it's your turn, you get pictures with your underwear's now." Where does he come up with this stuff?
We are so lucky to have this guy in our home and in our family. We LOVE him so much and don't know what we would do without him.
Ladies man, don't they make a cute couple.
A few picture of the twins. 3 1/2 months old.

This is her Gorden B. Hinkley look, lol. Look at that lower lip:)

Can't Get Enough

I LOVE PJ'S, Riley calls them my Kryptonite. They are just so comfy, and delicious:) FYI we got these PJ's at Costco. They are great because they cover everything but it's really light fabric so they breath and the little ones don't get too hot. They were cheep too:)

Here are my boys, i can't get enough of them!

Dane's SWEET smile!

Jack modeling his PJ's for me.

This is the best pic, look at him check himself out.
As of late I can't get enough of my little people. Jack makes me laugh ALL THE TIME! The things he comes up with are clever and funny but he has no idea how cute he is. At this point in time he is in LOVE with Monster Trucks and Robots! In fact he is pooping in the potty because if he does then he gets to play with his Grave Digger Monster Truck. It is working really well:) He takes his monster truck everywhere. At night we have to pry it from his little fingers off of it so he doesn't sleep with it. I never loved anything that much.
The twins are now 3.5 months old. Dane weighs 15 pounds, such a chunk:) Dane loves to EAT, such a guy;) He has become a very chill baby. As long as he is fed, and not cold he will just sit and smile for ya. He is cooing and on the verge of a giggle, can't wait for that!
London weighs 13 pounds. She is my wonderful little girl. She looks like she's pissed off a lot, (already has an attitude) but when she miles it just melts your heart. Those dimples are SOOO SWEET! This little girl LOVES to have a bare bum and a CLEAN bum. If she is poopy you will definitely know. She also wants your attention a lot, wanting you to talk to her all the time. She is also cooing and on the verge of a giggle.
It's amazing having a girl and a boy baby at the same time. Dane moves like a boy, eats like a boy, and really acts like a boy. London is more graceful, the way she holds her hands next to her face is so girly. Definitely she doesn't eat as much either. Boys are just boys and girls are just girls.

So Naïve

Riley, Riley, Riley. There are so many wonderful things about my husband but there are also so many hilarious things about him as well. Today was a perfect example of how wonderfully naïve he is.

I was at Wal Mart doing my weekly shopping, which by the way is a sight to see, when Riley called saying he was driving home from work. I asked him if he would stop by on his way home and help me finish up. Of course my wonderful man was there in no time at all.

I was reading People Magazine, (I hate to say it but I am one of those people who are too cheep to actually buy the magazine so they find the longest line and read what they want, yep I’m that annoying person) when I realized what was happening. For the most part Riley is quite quiet and doesn’t go out of his way to be TOO friendly; I’m the annoying one that you can’t take anywhere. Well not today. First thing you need to know about Riley is that he is very homophobic. Well while I am reading about John and Kate and there SAD situation I realize that he is talking to the cashier, a young guy in his 20’s. I then realize that this boy is undeniably gay. Riley has NO IDEA and just keeps chatting away. This guy can’t quit smiling and giggling and flirting with my very hot husband, and Riley is just talking with him as he would any other person. I’m watching this from the side and I can barley keep from laughing myself silly. When we finely leave this never to be forgotten situation, I inform Riley of the situation at hand. The look on his face was priceless. It was the slow realization that unknowingly he had just made his new friends day, this new friends just happen to be gay. It was priceless.

Talking about it later, well actually laughing about it later, I found out that Riley was just trying to be friendly like they are in Logan. He is still in denial. I just have to say that this moment was such a pay off for me. He was always so scared of gay men that to be able to remind him that he has flirted with one is always going to come in handy. Thanks for making my day babe, Love ya for it;)!

3 Month Old Twins!!!

Look at those dimples, SOOO CUTE!!!! Both Riley and I don't have any baby pics so we don't know if our babies look anything like us as babies. But I think I see a little of me in her:)

Dane today in the car, 3 months old. Look at that smile, and the drool is the BEST part!

Jack at 3 months old. I see some of Jack in Dane:)

Jack at 3 months old, ya think they look anything alike?

Dane today in the car, 3 months old. This is a face that we see lots. It's so delicious that it makes up for the rotten sound that comes after it:)
Jack at 3 months old, with the same sad face. They reminds me so much of each other.

Jack at 3 1/2 months old. SO CUTE!!!

This was Jack at 3 1/2 months old. That little boy always had a smile on his face. Such a good baby and still such a good boy:)

Jack is doing so good with the little brother and sister. Still always wanting to kiss and love them. Such a good big brother! He is getting so big and talking so much it's hard to believe that once upon a time ago he was a baby too. I can't get enough of his little personality and the sweet and crazy things he comes up with. I JUST LOVE HIM!!!

That's so Jack

Everywhere we go Jack has something to say to someone. Usually it's to women i guess because that what i see the most. When we are at the grocery store there are times when I get, (apparently) too close to others carts and Jack will apologize for my rudeness. in his sweet little voice he will say, "Oh so sorry."

Well today we went to Maverick and I realized how non judgmental and friendly my little man is, it's a bit nerve racking. We were paying for his ice cream cone when a serious biker dude with all the fixings walks inn. I would like to think I haven't lived a terribly sheltered life but this dude was quite the sight. Leather all around, earnings in his ears and lip and nose and crazy Mohawk hair. I paid for our things are was walking out with jack right next to me when Jack turned around and had this conversation with our new found friend.

Jack: "Hi, what's your name?"

Crazy Biker Dude: "Chris, what your name?"

Jack: "Jack, I'm 2 years old"

Crazy Bicker Dude: "Wow, it's bean nice meeting you Jack"

Jack: "Ya, see ya."

Crazy Biker Dude: With a little twinkle in his eye that was not previously there, "Bye Jack"

I love how kids are so non judgmental. They can see past the earrings, the hair, the cloths and see a person and want to know his name. My little man is so friendly and wants to get to know everyone around him. Even the crazy biker dude:)

Dane's Anomaly's

So Dane has some real crazy irregularities, poor guy. It's no wonder that he isn't loving life here on earth so much. He was born with all but one, the belly button was something that was just added to the pile of problems.

On his upper lip on the right side you will see a little blue dot. That is called a hemangioma. It is more common in twins. He was born with it and it will get bigger until he hits 6 months to a year old. From that point on it will slowly go away for the next 3 years. By the time he is 4 it should be gone. The Dr freaked me out when he said "The only time we worry about these is when they get so big that he can't breath out of his nose." "Come again?" Let's pray it doesn't get THAT big.

This is Danes Herniated Belly Button. It's huge, so sad. I guess it happens with preemies a lot. IT just a little hole, the size of the tip of my finger, in his abdomen wall. Belly fluids is what is in it now. You can push it back inn and hear all the fluids go back into his belly but it won't stay there. This should go away on it's own in the first year of life but if it doesn't or if it gets any bigger then they will have to do surgery. Let's pray it doesn't come to that.

I never watch videos on blogs but you have to watch this, it is so WEIRD! This has some big medical name that I can't remember but the short name for it is a Fish Hook Tubular. Crazy ha. It is a hole in his neck that attaches to his throat so every time he swallows it lifts up. At some point it will get infected and they will have to remove it. Hopefully this happens before he goes to school and the kids say "What's wrong with you neck Dane?" If it doesn't I'm sure we can find a way for him to make all the kids jealous that they don't have one, lol:) I guess these are quite common even though I have never seen one.

Our little Dane is SOOOOOO dang cute, sweet, edible, and delicious when he is his happy self. When he smiles it's always with his mouth wide open. His little anomaly's make him that much more lovable. None of them are supposed to cause him any pain so we all sleep better at night knowing that.

So if you have any experience with any of these let me know and tell me how it turned out for the sorry victim.
